Long Haul: Storm King Comics’ Dark & Twisted Tale Takes Us On A Gripping Tale of Revenge

The sun-baked deserts and wide-open vistas of the American West have long been a backdrop for stories of romance and adventure. However, in Storm King Comics‘ latest release, Long Haul, readers are taken on a thrilling journey that explores a much darker side of the American landscape.

Written by Cullen Bunn and Heath Amodio, with stunning artwork by Andrea Mutti, Gigi Baldassini, and Valerio Alloro, Long Haul delves into the terrifying reality of the over 700 missing individuals along America’s interstate highways. These victims are hunted, taken, and tragically killed by active serial killers.

At the heart of Long Haul is Sarah Blake, one of the countless missing individuals who vanished without a trace. Her disappearance devastates her sickly father, and when he passes away, her older brothers Danny and Carl are consumed by a combination of grief and rage. With nothing left to lose, the two brothers embark on a mission to hunt down the “long haul” serial killers, seeking the truth about what happened to Sarah.

As Danny and Carl seek their revenge, they uncover the existence of a menacing group known as The Nine. It becomes evident that one of The Nine is responsible for snatching Sarah from beside her broken-down car. The Blake brothers must confront this gruesome gang and their protectors, ruthlessly fighting their way through the twisted hierarchy until they come face-to-face with the horrifying individual who took their sister.

What sets LONG HAUL apart is its intricate, time-jumping storyline filled with dark kills and shocking acts of violence, the graphic novel maintains a forbidding tone that perfectly complements its sinister narrative.

Sandy King, the founder and editor of Storm King Comics, describes Long Haul as a composition of the best storytelling and artistry the graphic novel medium has to offer. Just like their previous release, “Death Mask,” this book showcases the talents of today’s top artists and writers, gripping readers in a way comparable to watching a heart-pounding horror film.

Uncover the truth behind Sarah Blake’s disappearance when Long Haul arrives at your favorite local comic shop on February 21st, 2024.
