Lisa Frankenstein Trailer Unveils the “Coming of Rage” Horror Romance Film
Focus Features has unveiled the trailer for Lisa Frankenstein, Zelda Williams‘s directorial debut set to hit theaters just in time for Valentine’s Day. The film follows the story of Lisa Swallows (Kathryn Newton) as she endeavors to bring her deceased love interest, played by Cole Sprouse, back to life in an unusual manner – by utilizing a broken tanning bed to reanimate a handsome Victorian corpse.
Promising an unconventional love story for the romantic season, Lisa Frankenstein draws comparisons to the 2013 classic Warm Bodies. It follows the journey of Lisa, a misunderstood goth teenage outsider, who delves into the depths of science to manifest her dreams of true love. As her long-dead crush is revived, the story takes an unexpected turn as she embarks on a romance with the revived man, supplementing him with necessary body parts through a dark and whimsical path of murder.
Penned by acclaimed writer Diablo Cody (Jennifer’s Body), Lisa Frankenstein is a “coming-of-rage” love story that promises to captivate audiences. The film also marks the Hollywood debut of Liza Soberano, alongside Joe Chrest and Henry Eikenberry.
