DC’s Next Big Event Lazarus Planet Will Be Unleashed in 2023
During New York Comic-Con, DC Comics unveiled the publisher’s next big event which will arrive in 2023 during the “Explore the DC Multiverse” panel. The event titled Lazarus Planet will have an iconic lineup of creators teaming up including writer Mark Waid who will collaborate alongside artists Riccardo Federici, Gene Luen Yang, Billy Tan, Nicole Maines, Skylar Patridge, Francis Manapul, Dan Watters, Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Josie Campbell, and more.
The event will spin out of Waid’s and Mahmud Asrar‘s Batman vs. Robin in which the Lazarus Volcano erupts and engulfs transformative chemicals onto Earth which then leads to ensuing chaos for the DC Universe. The effects of the Lazarus Volcano give people around the planet new abilities and those who already possess abilities see their abilities take new forms with the entire DCU falling into a state that it has never experienced before.
The publisher notes that many questions are certainly to be on readers’ minds but as more information comes to light, readers can expect to see the weekly event unfold beginning in January.
