Layers of Fears Reveal Trailer Unleashes the Horror at Summer Game Fest

Bloober Team and its co-developer Anshar Studios have released the Layers of Fears reveal trailer during the Summer Game Fest presentation. With rumors of a possible Silent Hill announcement, the studios announced that they are co-developing the new title at the showcase hosted by Geoff Keighley.

Many fans had been speculating and wondering what Bloober Team was working on and we now have an answer. Speaking of what the project is, Bloober Team said:

“[It is a] psychological horror chronicle built upon the foundations of the original Layers of Fear, Layers of Fear: Inheritance, and Layers of Fear 2. The psychedelic experience fans know and love will include an expanded plotline and gameplay direction all created in Unreal Engine 5.” 

Piotr Babieno, Bloober Team CEO also said in a press release:

“We are bringing back a franchise that is really special for us, in a new form that will give players a truly fresh gaming experience and that will shed new light on the overall story. Our plan was to recreate the games, but we didn’t want to make it a simple collection of two remastered games.

We’ve worked out a new approach, something that is maybe not yet obvious. But I can tell you there’s a reason why we called it Layers of Fears.” 

Layers of Fears is not quite a remaster but will serve as a kind of Layers of Fear collection that serves almost as a reimagining of the series. As you will see in the trailer below, one thing is certain, they are bringing some haunting fear to players in the future.

Layers of Fears will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in early 2023. Check out the reveal trailer below:
