Justin Lin Will Direct One Punch Man Film Adaptation For Sony
Director Justin Lin is set to direct the upcoming One Punch Man film adaptation for Sony Pictures. Just a couple of months after he exited the Fast X film, the director now has his eyes set on the live-action adaptation of the popular manga and anime series.
One Punch Man follows Saitama, a man who decides he wants to be a superhero because he is bored of life. He trained so hard that his hair fell off and now finds himself so immensely powerful that nobody he faces can survive one punch, leading him to defeat one enemy after another and become increasingly frustrated with the continued boredom and lack of a challenge.
The upcoming live-action adaptation of One Punch Man will be penned by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner. The film was announced back in 2020 with Avi Arad announced as a producer. The news bodes well with fans as Arad had a big hand in creating the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Lin will also serve as a producer on One Punch Man.
One Punch Man was first published in 2009 and created by ONE and quickly rose in popularity. The manga has sold over 30M copies worldwide and received an anime adaptation shortly after. With one of the biggest fandoms in the world, One Punch Man is regarded as one of the most popular and fastest-selling series in the world.
No other details have been revealed for One Punch Man. Stay tuned as more information becomes available.
