Jordan Elsass Exits Superman & Lois Ahead of Season 3, Jonathan Kent To Be Recast
The CW‘s Superman & Lois will have a new face when it returns for its third season as Jordan Elsass who plays Jonathan Kent in the series will be recast after Elsass exits the series. Deadline reported that Elsass failed to meet the deadline for the reconvening of the cast as filming begins. Due to those actions, Warner Bros. released a statement touching on the situation and confirmed that Elsass’ role would be recast.
In the statement, Warner Bros.said:
“Jordan Elsass has notified the Studio that he will not be returning to Superman & Lois for season 3 due to personal reasons. The role of Jonathan Kent will be recast.”
Superman & Lois focuses on Tyler Hoechlin‘s Superman who tries to balance his relationship with Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) and his sons Jordan Kent (Alexander Garfin) and Jonathan Kent (Elsass) while also having the responsibilities of the Man of Steel and protecting the world from threats. Elsass’s character was trending towards taking on a bigger role in the series, whether that is still the case will remain to be seen as the role is recast.
The series was developed by Todd Helbing and Greg Berlanti and also stars Erik Valdez, Dylan Walsh, Inde Navarrette, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Sofia Hasmik, and Wolé Parks.
Superman & Lois season 3 is expected to premiere sometime in early 2023.
