Jon Bernthal Returning as Punisher in Daredevil: Born Again
The MCU’s upcoming original series Daredevil: Born Again was already red hot with excitement from fans having high anticipations to see Charlie Cox reprise his role as the street-level defender of Hell’s Kitchen. As if things could not be more exciting for the revival of Daredevil, we now have reports from The Hollywood Reporter that Jon Bernthal will be returning for the series and reprising his role of Frank Castle/The Punisher. This now marks three actors and characters returning for the series as Vincent D’Onofrio is also set to return after his emergence in the MCU in the Hawkeye series.
With Born Again being described as a continuation of the Netflix series, it makes sense to implement some of the key characters from the series and we are all hoping this leads to The Punisher getting his own series as his run on Netflix was shortlived before the lineup of series were pulled. Marvel is hardly someone to let anything slip up ahead of time and they certainly are known for throwing curveballs our way so we don’t know what to expect with the series.
As we prepare for Daredevil: Born Again which will be part of MCU’s Phase 5 plans and will release as a Disney+ original series, we will await more information to be revealed on the plot and other possible additions to the cast.
Daredevil: Born Again will release on Disney+ in the spring of 2024.
