Welcome to Derry: It Prequel Series Finds Its Showrunners
The prequel series to Stephen King‘s It continues to make headway at HBO Max. The series, currently called Welcome to Derry, which is set to take place in the 1960s and will lead up to the events of It: Chapter One has already found its showrunners and now the It prequel series adds four cast members which include Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, James Remar, and Chris Chalk.
The project will be under the guidance of Jason Fuchs and Brad Caleb Kane as showrunners and although no details have been shared about the plot, the return of Pennywise is taking form more and more. We now also have an official logline for the series which reads:
“Set in the world of Stephen King’s It universe, Welcome to Derry is based on King’s It novel and expands the vision established by filmmaker Andy Muschietti in the feature films It and It Chapter Two.”
The series looks to explore the origin story of Pennywise the Clown in Muschietti‘s universe. Muschietti is also set to executive produce the series alongside Barbara Muschietti. Jason Fuchs will also be returning to pen the series and executive produce.
There is no anticipated release date for the series and many questions are left unanswered but stay tuned as the series floats its way to us.
