How I Met Your Father Season 2 Trailer Introduces a New Love Interest for Sophie

Hulu has released a trailer for How I Met Your Father season 2 ahead of its highly-anticipated release. The Hilary Duff-led series serves as a spinoff to the popular series How I Met Your Mother. In a modern-day setting with modern-day problems, Duff plays Sophie who along with her friends experiences the growing pains of trying to make it through daily life struggles, work, and finding love in New York City.

The trailer takes us back to some of our favorite moments in the first season and takes us back to Sophie’s wild bunch of friends including Charlie (Tom Ainsley), Jesse (Chris Lowell), Valentina (Francia Raisa), Sid (Suraj Sharma), and Ellen (Tien Tran). Sophie’s future self is played by Kim Cattrall.

The first season featured Josh Peck in a recurring role as Sophie’s love interest and we can expect to see him back again but the trailer did introduce John Corbett as her next potential suitor. The series has also brought back some HIMYM stars back to reprise their role as Cobie Smulders and Kyle Maclachlan both made appearances in season 1.

The series left many adventures left to be had and questions to be answered as Naomi (Tessa Auberjonois) has given Sophie the major opportunity to show off her photography in her gallery. It will be up to writers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger who join the second season to craft a follow-up for the captivating first season. The series is produced by Duff with How I Met Your Mother creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas executive producing alongside Pam Fryman and Adam Londy.

How I Met Your Father will stream exclusively on Hulu on January 24, 2023.
