House of the Dragon’s Olivia Cooke to Star in Horror Film Visitation
House of the Dragon star Olivia Cooke is set to star in the upcoming horror film Visitation. The film is set to follow a 14-year-old girl who is sent away to live with Catholic nuns after her mother falls ill and near death. Starring alongside Cooke will be The Queen’s Gambit star Islan Johnston with Nicolas Pesce set to helm the film.
As the young girl’s arrival begins to cause sinister repercussions, 14-year-old Maria finds herself suddenly enamored by one of her caretakers. Not much more is known of the story or the characters but we do know Cooke will portray a nun with an integral role in the film and story.
Also starring in the film will be Alfie Allen, another Game of Thrones alum, as well as Penelope Wilton, and Stephen Rea. This cast is shaping up to create excitement for the film along with the dark narrative of the story that we have so far. Cooke gave a phenomenal performance along with so many in the first season of the Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon as she portrayed Alicent Hightower. She has also appeared in Steven Spielberg‘s film adaptation of Ready Player One and the Oscar-nominated film Sound of Metal. Johnston can be seen in Netflix‘s The Queen’s Gambit as the younger version of Anya Taylor-Joy‘s Beth Harmon.
Visitation does not currently have a release date as the film is currently in production with principal photography taking place in Ireland. Stay tuned as more information becomes available.
