Hideo Kojima Announces He Is Teaming Up With Xbox
Video game creator Hideo Kojima of Kojima Productions made an appearance at the Xbox Games Showcase presentation today and made a big announcement. During the presentation, Kojima announced that he and his studio will be working on a brand-new project in partnership with Xbox.
The bad news is that was the bulk of the details Kojima shared other than saying it’s a “game I have always wanted to make.” Kojima’s statement regarding it being a brand-new game should make it safe to assume that this will not be part of any previous franchises he has been a part of and Kojima made note of Microsoft‘s cloud technology which could be an indicator that the upcoming project might be making use of the capabilities of the cloud technology.
Although the details are slim, the announcement and existence of a project from Kojima and the partnership with Xbox is groundbreaking news considering his past connection to Sony and PlayStation. Not to say working with Xbox will sever those ties but it definitely opens up the directions for the studio.
Stay tuned as more information becomes available about Kojima and Xbox’s new project.
