Greener Pastures Returns with an All-Star Creative Team on Kickstarter

In celebration of its 30th anniversary, co-creator and artist Tim McEwen is reviving the cult classic series, Greener Pastures, with an all-new star-studded creative team. The latest installment, Greener Pastures 8, is set in the 1990s, serving as a nostalgic period piece before the protagonist, Trevor Bovis, is propelled into the 2020s.

Originally titled “Sex & Violence” and now rebranded as Sweet Sweet Release, the story promises an intriguing visit to the local nightspot, The Berlin Club.

Joining Tim McEwen on this epic journey are a host of esteemed and up-and-coming comics talent, including Dave Sim, Ashley Wood, Nicola Scott, Jon Sommariva, Chris Wahl, Mark Sexton, Dean Rankine, Al Barrionuevo, and many others who have each contributed a page of pencils in their unique styles, subsequently inked by Tim.

Speaking about the project, Tim McEwen expressed his excitement:

“We wanted to do something really special for our return, so I thought I’d reach out to some of the friends we made over the years. Over my time in the Australian comics scene, I’ve had the opportunity to rub shoulders with a who’s-who of comic greats – many of whom I called on for this new issue. The result is something truly worthy of Trevor’s long-awaited return.”

Fans can look forward to the work of a wide array of artists, including James A. Owen, Gary Chaloner, Thomas Campi, Marty Abel, Matt Huynh, Camillo Di Pietrantonio, Jeffrey ‘Chamba’ Cruz, and others. Notably, the creative process has become a family affair, with the involvement of Tim McEwen’s children and other relatives.

As Tim humorously commented:

“If all goes to plan, we’re going to turn that around over the next couple of years or so, as we’re already working on the next stage in Trevor’s evolution. Whether you’ve been following us since the beginning, or you’re just discovering us now, we hope you’ll take that journey with us.”

This Kickstarter campaign not only offers a nostalgic visit to the series but also provides a glimpse into the future, as the creators have numerous new tales primed and ready to go.
