Good Burger 2: Welcome Back to Good Burger, Home of the Good Burger
Nickelodeon Movies and Paramount+ will be teaming up with comedy duo Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell for Good Burger 2. During an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the duo announced the sequel is in the works. The film looks to be moving at a fast pace with production slated to start as early as May of this year.
Fans not only got the exciting news of the newly announced sequel but we also have some premise as to where the new story will take us. Thompson and Mitchell’s characters, Dexter and Ed will reunite at the titular burger joint along with a new cast of employees. As Ed lives his life as a manager of the burger chain, Dexter is welcomed back after a failed invention puts him and Good Burger in jeopardy.
Thompson revealed an official statement revealing his excitement about the greenlit sequel, saying:
“I can’t believe it’s been a little over 25 years since great customer service was born at Good Burger! Being a part of something so many generations of people have come ti move has made me so proud and now to be back where it all began working in the sequel is surreal! Love performing with my brother Kel and can’t wait to show the fans what these characters have been up to since we last saw them.”
Originally a segment within the comedy series All That which starred Thompson and Mitchell, the sketch then grew into film history with the 1997 release of Good Burger which not only shot the duo to stardom but has also been a generational classic as many fans who experienced the film during its release keep coming back time and time again to relive Ed and Dexter’s journey.
Good Burger 2 will release exclusively on Paramount+. No release date has been revealed but stay tuned as more information is revealed.
