Army of Darkness/Bubba Ho-Tep Team Are GOING GREEN in New Graphic Novel

The creative team of Vincenzo Federici and Scott Duvall, who previously collaborated on the popular crossover comic Army of Darkness/Bubba Ho-Tep, reunite for Going Green. Joining them are co-writer Sean Reliford, colorist Michele Monte (known for Speed Republic), letterer Taylor Esposito (Ringo award-winning artist behind Red Hood and the Outlaws), and Eisner-nominated cover artist Sara Richard (The Dead Hand Book). This new tale will focus on a story rooted in family, death, and how we deal with both.

Set in the Pacific Northwest, the story revolves around the Dunn children who have recently lost their father. Instead of a traditional burial, they opt for a greener alternative called Going Green, where their father’s remains are composted into soil. However, their lives take a strange turn when their father is reincarnated as a plant-hybrid creature.

Meanwhile, a kaiju-like hive mind composed of reanimated remains wreaks havoc in the town, as conflicting personalities battle for control within its ecosystem.

According to Scott Duvall, this collaboration with Sean Reliford is their first venture into the world of comics together. He highlights the strong creative partnership between them and their shared vision for Going Green.

Vincenzo Federici expresses his excitement for the project, describing it as visceral and a true testament to the chemistry between him and Scott. Sean Reliford emphasizes the unique and complementary styles of the creative team and the ambiguous nature of the story, which touches on themes of hope, loss, and second chances.

The Going Green crowdfunding campaign will be live on ZOOP today for 30 days. Supporters will have the opportunity to back the project and receive rewards such as stickers, signed art prints, original art commissions, signed editions of Army of Darkness/Bubba Ho-Tep #1, and even the chance to cameo in the comic.
