Forspoken Has Been Delayed to January
Square Enix and Luminous Productions have announced that their action RPG Forspoken will be delayed from its current October release date to early 2023. The video game’s social media page posted an announcement in which it states that they have delayed the game as a “strategic decision” and the game is largely finished with some polishing set to be made to push the game to completion.
The social media post reads:
“As a result of ongoing discussions with key partners, we have made the strategic decision to move the launch date of Forspoken to January 24, 2023. All game elements are now complete, and development is in its final polishing phase.
We would like to thank you for your continued support and patience on this journey. Your excitement for the game inspires us every day and we cannot wait to share more about Forspoken with you later this Summer!”

This will mark yet another delay for Forspoken as it had already been delayed from its previous May 24th, 2022. release date to October 11th, 2022. Although this seems to not be related to the development of the game as it notes a strategic decision was made. The announcement came on the heels of the highly-anticipated God of War: Ragnarok announcing a September release date. It could be that the studio decided it would not favor the game to compete with such a big title.
Forspoken will launch on PlayStation 5 and PC on January 24th, 2022.
