GATCHAMAN: GALACTOR – An Exclusive First Look at Mad Cave Studios’ New Era of Villainy

Prepare to witness the rise of a new era as the infamous villain Katse seizes control of the narrative in GATCHAMAN: GALACTOR, a groundbreaking four-issue miniseries from Mad Cave Studios. This Geek Network Exclusive brings you the first look at preview pages that haven’t been shown elsewhere!

Gatchaman: Galactor

The Dark Rise of Katse

Katse, the cunning antagonist of Galactor, steps out of the shadows to commandeer the spotlight. In a chilling declaration, Katse proclaims, “Listen, you insignificant worms! The time has come to bow before the might of Galactor! Pledge your allegiance to the true ruler!”

Eisner Award-winning writer Steve Orlando (Scale Trade, Scarlet Witch, Rainbow Bridge) and beloved Costa Rican artist Kath Lobo (Good Game, Well Played) bring this tale to life, tunneling into the many layers of villainy and the threats it brings. Orlando commented on Katse’s sinister ambitions, saying, “Katse’s demand for allegiance is a testament to his insidious ambitions. With Gatchaman: Galactor, we explore the depths of villainy and the consequences of blind obedience.”

A New Chapter in Storytelling

Katse embodies the essence of villainy, driving the narrative forward with an unyielding quest for power. Orlando has crafted a tale of intrigue and domination, exploring the heart of darkness, where loyalties and alliances are exercised within this crucible of chaos.

Galactor is under siege from within! After a secret attempt on his life, Berg Katse reveals a conspiracy within Galactor, born in their earliest days. The second-in-command goes undercover to hunt, identify, and ruthlessly dispense a revolution growing within Galactor’s ranks. This miniseries ties directly into the first volume of Gatchaman, promising to expand on the rich lore of the franchise.

Exclusive Insight from the Creators

Orlando’s enthusiasm for the project is palpable. “To paraphrase Paul Heyman, ‘Do you really find good guys that interesting? I know I don’t.’ But Gatchaman: Galactor was the absolute top of my list when Mad Cave reached out to me about the franchise,” he said. “Berg Katse, Leader X, and the forces of Galactor have been incredibly influential in the decades since their debut. Without their narrative DNA, the iconic cartoons of the 1980s would’ve been bereft of the dastardly, scheming villains we all came to love to hate. With this book, we’re exploring facets of Galactor that have never been seen before!”

Artist Kath Lobo added, “I’m very excited to be part of this project! I know Gatchaman is a cult-classic anime, and many people will be waiting for this series. I sincerely think this will exceed their expectations. I really love Steve’s approach to the characters, Berg Katse in particular; it’s so cool and interesting.”

A Spectacle of Intrigue

Gatchaman Galactor #1 promises to be a riveting spectacle, offering readers a front-row seat to the unfolding drama. With Katse at the helm, the stakes have never been higher, and the line between friend and foe blurs in the shadow of his tyranny. Will you heed Katse’s call to allegiance, or will you stand against the tide of tyranny? The choice is yours, worms.
