Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev On Being the Criminal Masterminds Behind Dark Horse Series Masterpiece

Masterpiece is an upcoming action/adventure comic series by Dark Horse Comics and Jinxworld. Created by the Eisner Award-winning duo Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev, this gripping new series welcomes readers as they enter the story of Emma as her world is turned upside down as a result of a hidden secret.

The story follows Emma, also known as Masterpiece, a gifted and determined 16-year-old. Emma has financed her education through her ingenious inventions and gained recognition for her humorous and insightful webcomics. However, her world is turned upside down when she discovers the truth about her parents.

Emma learns that she is the daughter of two notorious master criminals who were responsible for some of the most audacious heists in history. They vanished after outsmarting the billionaire Zero Preston and stealing a billion dollars from him. Zero has been seeking revenge ever since, and now he sets his sights on Emma.

Threatened by Zero, Emma must assemble a team of her peers and her parents’ former associates in order to pull off an impossible heist against Zero’s corporate enemy. Along the way, she will uncover hidden secrets about her parents and her own abilities.

In our latest collaboration with our friend at Blake’s Buzz and Metal Ninja Studios, we had the privilege of speaking with Bendis and Maleev about their work in crafting the latest project from the minds behind Scarlet.
