BOOM! Studios Reveals First Look at Slow Burn #1

BOOM! Studios has unveiled a sneak peek at Slow Burn #1, the highly anticipated debut issue of the upcoming series written by acclaimed noir crime writer Ollie Masters, with art by the rising star Pierluigi Minotti, colors by Alessandro Santoro, and lettering by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou. This gripping tale, set to hit the shelves in October 2023, delves into a town plagued by dirty secrets and engulfed in flames.

The story follows a group of unlikely companions on the run after a botched robbery in New York City. As they search for refuge, their journey leads them to Trier, a seemingly abandoned mining ghost town in central Pennsylvania. Buried under a haze of toxic gases emitted by an ongoing coal-seam fire from the 1960s, Trier appears to offer the perfect hiding place. Desperate for a fix and hoping to secure a hostage, the trio soon discovers that this eerie ghost town holds more surprises than they bargained for.

The first issue will have a main cover by Matt Taylor, known for his work on Deep State. In addition, readers can also look forward to variant covers by artists Paul Azaceta, Tyler Jenkins, and Cliff Chiang.

Prepare for a thrilling journey through a town shrouded in darkness, danger, and the simmering intensity of the unknown when Slow Burn #1 arrives at your favorite local comic shop and digitally on October 25, 2023.
