Bethesda Reveals First Starfield Footage Featuring A Massive Universe With Over 1,000 Planets
Bethesda Game Studios revealed the first Starfield footage during the Xbox Games Showcase that featured a universe of massive scale that will have over 1,000 planets along with the ability for players to build their own spaceships.
It’s been a year of concept art and cinematic trailers but players finally got a glimpse of what they will be getting their hands on and it has left everyone’s jaws hitting the floor with a showing that can only be described as epic.
Creator Todd Howard showed fans a variety of different gameplay clips as he walked fans through the gameplay of the sci-fi RPG that encompasses the immense universe ranging from moons to fully populated planets. Crafting will play a role in the game and part of the gameplay showed that players will have the ability to scan and mine minerals.
For those wondering how or if combat will be an option, then you can expect the combat to play much like previous titles from the studio as the combat resembled that seen in the Fallout series.
With exploring, interacting with A.I., combat, and looting all playing a role in your experience in the game, players will progress and unlock skills that Howard noted:
“Combines the best of our previous three games.”
You will use these skills and complete challenges to build them up and level them. Players will also be building their own spaceship that will give players ultimate control over every aspect including the design and mechanical functions such as their engines or weapons. The ship created will then help players explore every corner of the universe including the previously mentioned 1,000 planets plus 100 systems that can be discovered.
Starfield is set to release on Xbox Series X/S and PC in early 2023. Check out the gameplay reveal below:
