Baghead Trailer Shows Freya Allen Inheriting A Haunted Pub
StudioCanal has recently released the Baghead trailer, starring Freya Allan, known for her role as Ciri in Netflix‘s The Witcher. In this haunting story, Allan’s character becomes the owner of her late father’s pub and discovers a supernatural entity locked within it.
The official synopsis reads:
Following the death of her estranged father (Peter Mullan), Iris (Freya Allan) learns she has inherited a run-down, centuries-old pub. She travels to Berlin to identify her father’s body and meet with The Solicitor (Ned Dennehy) to discuss the estate. Little does she know, when the deed is signed she will become inextricably tied to an unspeakable entity that resides in the pub’s basement – Baghead – a shape-shifting creature that can transform into the dead.
Two thousand in cash for two minutes with the creature is all it takes for desperate loved ones to ease their grief. Neil (Jeremy Irvine), who has lost his wife, is Iris’ first customer. Like her father, Iris is tempted to exploit the creature’s powers and help desperate people for a price.
But she soon discovers breaking the two-minute rule can have terrifying consequences. Together with her best friend Katie (Ruby Barker), Iris must battle to keep control of Baghead and figure out how to destroy her, before she destroys them.

The trailer unveils that the character had little knowledge of her father’s ownership of the pub, and the only remaining connection she has with him is a VHS tape. Intrigued by what he may have left for her, she watches the tape and sets in motion a terrifying series of events. However, her inheritance comes with a catch – there is a malevolent entity behind one of the doors, waiting to be unleashed and causing chaos.
Despite the risks, the young woman decides to explore the room and unintentionally releases the creature. It is soon revealed that the ghoul possesses the ability to briefly bring the dead back to life, turning the pub into a highly sought-after location. But seeking reunion with their deceased loved ones comes at a great cost, as deadly consequences follow those who dare to enter.

Baghead features a talented cast, including Jeremy Irvine, Ruby Barker, Saffron Burrows, Svenja Young, Julika Jenkins, Peter Mullan, and Ned Dennehy. Director Alberto Corredor, who previously directed the short film of the same name in 2017, brings his passion project to the big screen. Bryce McGuire, known for Night Swim, and Christina Pamies, writer of The Girl from Mars, join forces to pen the script.
Delve into the tale of mystery and horror as Baghead takes its viewers on a suspenseful journey into the unknown when it arrives in theaters near you. The film is set for an international release in January 2024.
