Aubrey Plaza Cast in Agatha: Coven of Chaos
Marvel Studios has added a new member to the coven as Aubrey Plaza joins the upcoming WandaVision spinoff series starring Kathryn Hahn who will be reprising her role of Agatha Harkness. Previously titled Agatha: House of Harkness until the title and logo reveal was dropped confirming the series would be titled Agatha: Coven of Chaos.
The head writer for WandaVision, Jac Schaeffer is returning for Agatha: Coven of Chaos as a writer and executive producer. Variety reported that Plaza’s role in the series is not confirmed. Joe Locke recently joined the Disney+ series as well showing signs that the series is picking up speed and should be giving fans more information as it progresses. The series got an official series order last year and will also feature the WandaVision character Dottie (Emma Caulfield Ford) who was a Westview resident in the series.
On WandaVision, Hahn played the role of the outwardly innocent neighbor Agnes, who initially appeared to be just another member of the town of Westview placed under Wanda Maximoff’s (Elizabeth Olsen) spell. However, she was inevitably revealed to be the witch Agatha Harkness, who had her own evil plans for interfering in the idyllic scenario Wanda had crafted for herself. namely, to tap into the source of the Scarlet Witch’s extraordinary powers. She of course was defeated by Wanda and locked in the mind-prison, but as a fan-favorite character, we all hoped to see her again in some form and a spinoff series certainly is the best-case scenario.
Another key character from WandaVision recently got picked up for a spin-off series as Paul Bettany‘s Vision will be going off on their own adventure in VisionQuest. The series will see Vision on a quest to regain his memories and humanity after the events of WandaVision.
No release date has been given for Agatha: Coven of Chaos but stay tuned as more information is revealed.
