“But it’s no use now,” thought poor Alice, “to pretend to be two people! Why, there’s hardly enough of me left to make one respectable person!” -Alice in Wonderland
Oh, Alice. Issue two of Boom! Studio’s Alice Never After just proves that we really are all mad here. With Alice taking on the crown of The Queen of Hearts, she comes face to face with the bane of Wonderland himself- The Cheshire Cat.
Lining the halls of The High Court sit familiar faces, and new ones, with a wishy-washy, beheading happy Walrus in charge of the gavel. The Cheshire Cat has been banished and banished for good reason. Everyone else seems betwixt by his charm by The Queen of Hearts herself Alice sees through his charms and he’s banished once again.
But, what is Wonderland? A mysterious procedure, devious characters, a father cavorting with the devil herself, and a sister willing to do whatever it takes to bring her dear sister Alice back to reality. Can she? Only time will tell.

Alice Never After provides a grim retelling of the childhood fable and what the mind does to survive. The book’s reality and fantasy are defined by the dueling art styles in a beautiful and sad way. Red. You can never have too much red. While this Alice might not be the blond-haired girl from our childhood picture books, her tale of pain and torment is as old as time. Highly recommend this book for anyone who is a fan of Alice in Wonderland, mindful madness, and sisterly devotion.

Do I know Sabrina? Sabrina…Sabrina….Oh, you mean her? Yeahh. She’s wild. Homegirl throws solo dance parties in her bedroom. She writes like nobody’s reading…because they aren’t (yet). She is an award-winning baker and has seen every episode of every season of ALL the Star Treks, and Stargates except Stargate Universe because it wasn’t right. Perpetual teenager. 4’11 of sass and sarcasm. She’s obsessed with cats. Single if you can believe it. All around nerd, and just too weird for her own good. AND SHE’S PROUD OF IT?
