Alden Ehrenreich Cast In Ironheart Disney+ Series
Disney+ & Marvel‘s Ironheart series has added Solo star Alden Ehrenreich to the cast. Deadline reports that the series will join the streamer as part of the phase four lineup in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ehrenreich joins the previously cast Dominique Thorne who will headline the series as Riri Williams.
Williams was first introduced in the Marvel comics in 2016, the creation of writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Mike Deodato. She is a genius and inventor who creates her own suit of armor rivaling the iconic Iron Man suit. The six-episode series might change things up in Phase Four with the absence of Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man since he sacrificed himself during the Infinity Saga‘s Avengers: Endgame, she could be filling the shoes of Iron Man rather than some of what we have seen prior in the comic series.
Ehrenreich makes the jump from a Star Wars galaxy far, far, away to Marvel in an undisclosed role. He will also be appearing in the upcoming film Oppenheimer by Christopher Nolan. Ehrenreich and Thorne will star alongside Anthony Ramos and Harper Anthony. Ironheart is written and created by Chinaka Hodge.
Ironheart does not currently have a release date but will premiere exclusively on Disney+. Stay tuned for more updates.
