This week’s Death of the Silver Surfer #4 (by Greg Pak, Sumit Kumar, and Tiago Palma) shook the Marvel cosmos with a massive reveal — there’s a brand-new Silver Surfer soaring across the stars. And the journey’s just heating up before the series wraps on October 29.

The penultimate issue confirmed what many fans suspected: Norrin Radd’s time as the Silver Surfer is over. In a dramatic passing of the torch, Norrin bestows the Power Cosmic on Kelly Koh, a fierce special agent once sent to take him down. Now, Kelly’s transformation from alien hunter to cosmic hero will be completed in next month’s climactic Death of the Silver Surfer #5. With the Fantastic Four’s blessing, she’s stepping into the role of Marvel’s new Sentinel of the Spaceways — but first, she and Norrin must face an ancient, universe-ending threat born from the sins of Galactus himself.

“The Silver Surfer has always been one of Marvel’s most emotionally tormented heroes, and Kelly with the Power Cosmic definitely carries that torch — but she’s also got a no-nonsense, cocky, dangerous edge that makes her unpredictable to both villains and heroes,” says writer Greg Pak. “Don’t miss the finale to see what’s next for Norrin, Kelly, and the Power Cosmic!”
Marvel has shared this interior page from the upcoming issue, along with a sleek design sheet for Kelly’s new cosmic look by artist Sumit Kumar as seen above.

Fans can preorder Death of the Silver Surfer #5 now at their local comic shop to witness the next chapter of Marvel’s cosmic legacy.
