A Legacy of Violence Volume 2: Cullen Bunn Continues the Horrors of the Mad Cave Series

Mad Cave Studios has announced that the celebrated horror series will return with A Legacy of Violence Volume 2. The bloodshed will continue with a 12-issue maxi-series from writer Cullen Bunn, artist Andrea Mutti, and letterer Rus Wooten. 

Mad Cave’s description of A Legacy of Violence Vol. 2 reads: 

“As the situation in the small village of Disante begins to calm down, everything for the doctors at Hospital Roatan are about to witness true terror. Meanwhile, Nick makes contact with an old mysterious man that brings even more confusion to Nick’s already muddled past.”

Bunn shares in the press release the challenges they bestowed upon themselves with the series, saying: 

“We set out to challenge ourselves with A Legacy of Violence when we started out. As the story progresses, we’re leaning into that. Taking the story in surprising directions. Terrifying directions. And I think we’ve accomplished that goal. If readers were surprised, shocked, and taken aback by the gruesome events of the first part of the story, just wait until they see what’s next!”

Mutti added: 

“An intense and terrifying story, the reader is taken by the hand into the darkest places of the human soul. The characters come in a labyrinth of madness, everything you believe seems wrong, and every shadow can hide a hand that grabs you by the throat and forces you to read, gluing you to the pages! If you have enough courage and a strong stomach, follow us until the end!”

A Legacy of Violence has managed to capture the best aspects of horror and slasher films and is drenched in bloody violence reminiscent of Manhunt. Pulling the readers in with a strong plot and art that will make you feel like you stumbled upon the up-and-coming serial killer’s sketchbook makes for an enticing series that will make you feel like you’re in a nightmare you can’t wake up from. And maybe won’t want to wake from it. 

A Legacy of Violence Vol. 2 will collect issues #5-#8 and A Legacy of Violence #5 is set to release at your favorite local comic shop and digitally on May 10, 2023. If you get your copies directly from Mad Cave Studios, the first printing will be limited to 5 per customer.
