Here at Geek Network, we’ve been die-hard fans of Fell Hound ever since we first charged into battle with Commander Rao. Fell’s work has always been a staple of our comic book discussions, from the intense, emotionally driven narratives to her notorious yet continuously evolving art style. We are so excited to see where her journey takes her next. Teaming up with BOOM! Studios, Fell is set to bring us her most exhilarating and heartfelt series yet: S.I.R.

Introducing S.I.R.: Seismic Ironclash Roulette

In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the award-winning BOOM! Box imprint, BOOM! Studios proudly presents S.I.R. This summer, prepare to dive into the high-octane world of motorcycle jousting, brought to you by the Ringo Award-nominated indie darling, Fell Hound.

S.I.R. promises to be an unforgettable series, blending sports’ intensity with battle anime’s drama. Fell Hound herself shared an exclusive insight into the creation of S.I.R., saying, “Believe it or not, S.I.R. started out as a 2 a.m. fever dream idea when I was brainrotting over my favorite TV shows not coming back. And I thought… Well, if they keep ending shows I love, I guess I’ll have to… Make more? So here we are!”

The Story Behind the Thrills

The series centers on Avery Sakai, who is grappling with the painful separation from her girlfriend, Nico Xing. Acceptance to the prestigious Bridleham Academy is the perfect opportunity for Avery to reconnect with Nico. However, she soon discovers that Nico’s extracurricular activities are far from ordinary.

To win back Nico’s love, Avery plunges headfirst into the dangerous world of underground motorcycle jousting, known as Seismic Ironclash Roulette (S.I.R.). This isn’t just about the physical battles—Avery must confront her inner demons, finding strength and harmony amidst the roaring engines and clashing steel.

“My favorite genre on the planet is romantic dueling in the likes of Revolutionary Girl Utena and Gundam: The Witch from Mercury,” says Fell. “So naturally that manifests itself into re-imagining Fight Club as a 90s shojo anime on motorbikes!”

A Dream Team Collaboration

S.I.R. #1 features the main cover art by Fell Hound, with variant covers by talented artists Alessio Zonno (I Heart Skull-Crusher!) and Paulina Ganucheau (Zodiac Starforce). This series is set to join the ranks of BOOM! Box’s groundbreaking original series, which has redefined the landscape of modern comics.

Working alongside Fell Hound, Eleonora Bruni helps bring this visionary story to life with show-stopping colors. The creative team seems to be vibing, precisely what’s required in a series focusing on the “blazing headlights of genuine human connection,” as Fell so cleverly states.
