ORLANDO, FL – May 24, 2024 – Metal Ninja Studios is thrilled to announce the latest title from Metal Ninja Studios Publishing, A Pound of Flesh #1. This gripping new comic book, crafted by a team of seasoned industry veterans, promises to terrify readers with its dark, intriguing narrative and stunning artwork.

Set in the late 19th century in a small rural town in Pennsylvania, A Pound of Flesh delves into the lives of two sisters, Agatha and Anna Lee, along with their new neighbor, Sophie. Born hideously disfigured, Agatha faces relentless ostracization, while thousands of orphaned children are being sent by train to work in the town. The arrival of Sophie heralds new adventures and challenges for the sisters. As they explore an old cottage in the woods, they confront the mysteries and malevolent forces hidden within.

Timothy Vandenberg, a multifaceted talent in the film industry with roles as a writer, director, cinematographer, editor, and technical director, leads the project. With a robust portfolio through his production company, Tower Films, Vandenberg brings his storytelling prowess to the world of comic books for the first time.

Renowned artist Roman Gubskii, known for his work on Dusk County Chronicles: Nightfall, brings the narrative to life with his extraordinary illustrations. David Byrne, acclaimed for his writing on Stake Presents Jessamy and Canceled, oversees the editorial process, ensuring a cohesive and compelling story. Matt Krotzer, a respected letterer, adds the final touch to this highly anticipated book.
