Witchboard Trailer Sees Jamie Campbell Bower Summoning an Ancient Evil
In the highly anticipated horror film Witchboard, Jamie Campbell Bower, high off his breakout role as Vecna in Stranger Things, takes audiences on a spine-chilling journey through a sinister séance. Set to hit screens in 2024, this film is a remake of the 1986 film directed by Kevin Tenney, centered around a woman who gradually becomes possessed by a long-deceased axe murderer through a cursed Ouija board.
The newly released trailer showcases Bower’s character, occultist Alexander Babtiste, conducting a summoning ceremony over an ancient pendulum board, known as the “witchboard,” with a couple portrayed by Madison Iseman and Aaron Dominguez.
Witchboard revolves around the story of Christian and Emily, a couple who sets out to open a café in an old carriage house in New Orleans. Their lives take a dark turn when they stumble upon the mysterious pendulum board and Emily falls under its malevolent influence. Desperate for help, they turn to Babtiste, only to discover that he may possess a darkness as evil as the supernatural force tormenting them.
Alongside Campbell, Iseman, and Dominguez, the film will also star Antonia Desplat and Charlie Tahan. Witchboard is directed by Chuck Russell, whose work on horror classics from the ’80s such as Dreamscape, Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, and the remake of The Blob makes him a filmmaker with plenty of experience in the horror genre.
