Unveiling the Supernatural World: Mad Cave Studios Presents Soul Taker
Mad Cave Studios is set to launch its latest venture into supernatural horror with Soul Taker. Co-written by the esteemed Tom Sniegoski, known for his work on iconic titles like Batman and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, alongside Jeannine Acheson, and adorned with the mesmerizing imagery of Valeria Burzo, this series promises to be an unforgettable exploration into the shadows between life and death.
Amarantha, the last of her ancient race, is at the core of Soul Taker, leading a mundane life as a retiree in a quiet community. Her peaceful existence is shattered when ancient adversaries resurface, driven by revenge and a sinister desire to exploit her power. As these threats converge, Amarantha is forced to draw upon her strength and wit to protect her newfound tranquility and confront the ghosts of her past. Her journey is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, a journey that will resonate with readers.

Tom Sniegoski expressed his excitement, noting the unique genesis of the project and the perfect fit with Mad Cave Studios. “Jeannine and I are incredibly excited for everybody to experience the unique characters we have created and the world in which they live,” he remarked.
For Jeannine Acheson, the journey from conception to realization has been a labor of love: “It seems like forever ago that the character of Amara was born from an innocent conversation between Tom and me about our elderly moms.”
The artistic prowess of Valeria Burzo adds another dimension to the tale, infusing it with a romantic and gothic allure that transcends time. “The story is divided between flashbacks dating back between the Renaissance and 1700, the Age of Enlightenment, up to the present day,” Burzo explained, highlighting the nostalgic flavor and timeless charm of the characters.
With its variant cover program, including contributions from artists like Meghan Hetrick and Rosi Kampe, Soul Taker invites readers into a world where horror intertwines with romance, and the echoes of history resonate with the present. For fans of chilling tales like Something Is Killing the Children, Hellblazer, and American Vampire, the series promises a riveting experience from its debut issue on July 3rd.
As anticipation builds for the release of Soul Taker, Mad Cave Studios continues to solidify its position as a beacon for exceptional storytelling in comics. It offers readers a portal to realms where darkness and light converge in an unforgettable dance of intrigue and terror.
