Unique Ways To Host a Movie Night With Friends

Few things are better than inviting some friends to a movie night, eating snacks, and enjoying each other’s company. However, there’s only so much excitement you can get out of huddling together in a living room or enjoying the occasional backyard event. Here are a few unique ways to host a movie night with friends that can turn a simple film screening into a memorable event.

Rent a Hall

One of the easiest ways to try something new with your movie night is by renting a hall, conference room, or similar structure. Many of these places have projectors or sound equipment that you can borrow to play the flick of your choice.

Large open areas make it feel like a personalized theater. You can go the extra mile and cater the event or bring in your own seating. Open conference rooms make it easy for guests to stretch their legs or walk around during the film without disrupting other people.

Get a Party Boat

Plenty of fantastic movies take place on boats, so why not rent a party boat and turn your movie night into a shindig on the water? Aside from watching films together, there are many great party boat games that work with a lot of people, so you can turn it into a much bigger event than just a movie screening.

A classic twist on this formula is to rent a boat, set up a screen for everyone to watch, and have everyone get in the water and watch the film from inner tubes or other floatation devices! Put on your favorite shark movie and see who needs to climb back onto the boat before the film is over.

Night in the Woods

If you’re looking for a really unique way to host a movie night with friends, consider spending a night out in the woods. You can bring a projector and set up a large sheet between some trees to act as a screen.

You could marathon some horror movies that take place in the woods or at campsites, such as The Evil Dead or Friday the 13th. Of course, if people in your group aren’t fond of horror stories, you can keep things wholesome with woodsy Disney classics, including Bambi or The Fox and the Hound.

Where you watch a movie has just as much of an impact as the film you’re watching. Take a break from the living room sofa or deck chairs of a backyard, and try something new. You can turn a simple gathering into an unforgettable cinematic experience!
