True Lies Trailer Reveals First Look at TV Reboot of the 90s Film
CBS has revealed the first trailer for the upcoming series reboot of True Lies. The series is set to reboot the hit 90s film that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis. The series stars Steve Howey and Ginger Gonzaga in the lead roles of the spy thriller and the trailer reveals the first look at the troubles of marrying an international spy.
The series description reads:
“Inspired by James Cameron’s hit action/comedy film of the same name, follows Harry (Steve Howey), a first-class international spy for U.S. intelligence agency Omega Sector, and his wife, Helen (Ginger Gonzaga), a language professor bored with her daily routine, who makes the shocking discovery that her seemingly ordinary husband is leading an extraordinary double life.
The secret out, Helen joins Harry’s team, and the renewed bond between them adds much-needed sizzle to the Taskers’ emotionally distant marriage and upends the top-secret world of Omega Sector. But, as Harry says, if you’re going to save the world, you might as well do it for the ones you love.”
Starring alongside Howey and Gonzaga are Erica Hernandez, Omar Miller, Mike O’Gorman, Annabella Didion, and Lucas Jaye. The pilot script was penned by Matt Nix who will also serve as showrunner. Anthony Hemingway directed the pilot and will executive produce alongside James Cameron and Rae Sanchini.
True Lies does not currently have a premiere date but with a trailer released, you can expect it to premiere on CBS sooner rather than later.
