Timothy Olyphant Set to Star in FX’s Alien Series

FX has confirmed that Timothy Olyphant, known for his role in Justified, will be returning to the network for another original series. Olyphant has signed on to play an important role in Noah Hawley‘s upcoming Alien prequel series. In the upcoming series, Olyphant will portray Kirsh, a synthetic character similar to Ash from Alien.

His character will serve as a mentor to Wendy, played by Sydney Chandler, a fascinating meta-human hybrid with the mind of a child but the body of an adult. Joining Olyphant and Chandler, the cast includes Alex Lawther as CJ, Samuel Blenkin as Boy Kavalier, Essie Davis as Dame Silvia, Adarsh Gourav as Slightly, and Kit Young as Tootles.

Plot details for the series are being tightly guarded by FX, but we do know that it will take place 70 years in the future, before the events of the Alien films and their various prequels and sequels. Additionally, the series will be set on Earth.

The production for the Alien prequel series began filming in Thailand but was interrupted by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. However, it continued for a month with the involvement of cast members who were part of the British actors’ union Equity. The series is set to resume filming with its full cast early next year, aiming for an early 2024 release.

Stay tuned as more information is revealed as the upcoming Alien prequel series continues to take shape.
