The Woman King Trailer Prepares Viewers For An Epic War Arriving This September
Sony Pictures has released a trailer for The Woman King. The historical action film sees Viola Davis star as the general of a female military group. The trailer shed light on the story behind these brutal warriors and will chronicle the training of the all-female unit of the Agojie, the warriors tasked with protecting the African Kingdom of Dahomey. The film will focus on their fight to protect the kingdom from invaders threatening their way of life.

The film also stars Thuso Mbedu, Lashana Lynch, John Boyega, Sheila Atim, Adrienne Warren, Jayme Lawson, and Hero Fiennes-Tiffin. The film was helmed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, who also co-wrote the script alongside Dana Stevens.
