The Seasons Have Teeth: A Photographer Looks to Bring Color to His Drab World in New Mini-Series
Boom! Studios has announced a new mini-series titled The Seasons Have Teeth. The new four-issue horror series comes from writer Dan Watters who recently announced his Marvel debut with the upcoming Lokisolo series with art by Hungry Ghosts’ Sebastián Cabrol. The upcoming series follows a conflict photographer searching to end the drabness of the world around him by capturing a picture-perfect moment of the seasons embodied in god-like creatures.
Boom’s description of The Seasons Have Teeth reads:
“Andrew, a retired conflict photographer, lives a life steeped in regret, pain, and sorrow. When the seasons arrive–each one embodied as powerful god-like creatures–everything for Andrew begins to change. As he risks everything to track down Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, he can’t help but hope that capturing the perfect picture of each will help him find his redemption…and maybe–just maybe–bring color back to his world.”
Watters expresses his joy in working on the series alongside Cabrol, saying:
“I’m overjoyed to be writing this book for Sebastián. From the dark depths of winter to the joys of summer, he brings such wonderful nuance to both human emotion and monsters—and in The Seasons Have Teeth we are bringing you both in abundance.”
Cabrol shares the same joy and excitement of exploring the series’ world, saying:
“Dan has created an incredible landscape filled with both mystical and earthly creatures. It’s a unique take on something so marvelous as the idea of wild and sentient seasons. As an artist I’m having a great time exploring this world.”
With main cover art by by artist Qistina Khalidah, and variant covers by Duncan Fegredo, Sebastian Fiumara, and more, the series looks to deliver a refreshing, unique and vast world that readers are sure to enjoy diving into when the series arrives this April.
The Seasons Have Teeth #1 arrives at your favorite local comic shop and digitally in April 2023.
