The Medium TV Series Adaptation in the Works
Bloober Team has announced that their 2021 psychological horror game The Medium is getting a small screen adaptation. The hit video game will look to bring the world it built into a TV series adaptation. Bloober Team released a blog post with the announcement which was translated by Bloody Disgusting in which it revealed that Netflix‘s The Witcher executive producer Tomasz Bagiński and Bloober Team‘s Piotr Babieno will be tasked with overseeing the series development.
In the blog post, Babieno shares:
“Both the film industry and the video game industry are close to my heart, and I am very happy that there is finally an opportunity to bring them both together. The story we told in the game was appreciated by players, and now more people will be able to hear about it. The latest hits of streaming platforms based on games such as Cyberpunk: Edgerunners or Arcane have shown that this is the perfect time for such productions.”
No further details are available at this time but as Babieno mentioned, the video game to TV series adaptation has resulted in beloved series such as The Witcher, Arcane, and most recently the hit animated series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. This will make one of the many projects looking to join the list of successful video game to TV adaptations that are in the works.
