The Beekeeper Trailer Shows Off Jason Statham on A Path to Revenge
MGM has released the first trailer for David Ayer‘s highly anticipated action thriller, The Beekeeper. The film follows the story of a former member of a clandestine organization called The Beekeepers who embarks on a quest for revenge against the company responsible for a phishing scam.
This man, played by Jason Statham, is determined to bring justice to those behind the corruption, which reaches all the way to the highest levels of authority.
Before his journey for vengeance, Statham’s character was a beekeeper who dedicated his time to tending to hives and revitalizing the land surrounding an older woman’s home. Tragically, the woman falls victim to a phishing scam and, overwhelmed with grief, takes her own life.
In response, Statham’s character takes matters into his own hands and sets fire to one of the company’s headquarters, seeking retribution for the loss of the woman he considered family. As the story progresses, it becomes clear that the operation he faces is far more significant than just a group of common scammers. The top bosses soon realize that they are dealing with an extraordinary individual.
Alongside Statham, the film features an impressive cast that includes Jeremy Irons, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Josh Hutcherson, Bobby Naderi, Minnie Driver, and Phylicia Rashad. David Ayer has reunited with Kurt Wimmer, who wrote the screenplay for The Beekeeper.
The Beekeeper will be released in theaters on January 12, 2023. Check out the trailer below:
