Terrifier 3 is in the Works and Bringing a Big Budget for the Blood-Soaked Threequel
One of the most talked about horror films of 2022 is gearing up for its blood-soaked return as Deadline reports that Terrifier 3 is in the works. The horror slasher that writer and director Damien Leone brought to life in 2016 is going to bring the devilish Art the Clown back for more gore and spine-chilling deaths.
This time around, the film is bringing much more than tools turned into death dealers as the film is set to be getting a much bigger budget than the previous two films. This should be promising as the previous two entries have been beyond promising and were produced with a much smaller budget.
Terrifier 2 for example was made with a budget of 250k and went on to rake in 15M worldwide at the box office. This has set the threequel to receive a seven-figure budget which should give Leone and producer Phil Falcone plenty to work with as David Howard Thornton prepares for another gorefest.
No details on the plot of the third film have been released but given the great reaction received in Terrifier 2 which introduced the new final girl Lauren LaVera. It’s safe to assume that she will be returning alongside Thornton for a rematch which should be bigger, better, and bloodier.
The film will be distributed by The Coven and Priscilla Smith from the distributor had this to say about the threequel:
“There will be a much bigger budget this time around, which is intended to give the filmmakers more creative freedom, and let them be as wild as they can be. And, all jokes aside, we are going for that Oscar this year.”
Leone added:
“Terrifier 3 will be another boundary pushing addition to the horror genre, continuing the no holds barred, uncompromising exploits fans of the franchise have come to expect and celebrate. If you thought Art the Clown’s reign of terror in part 2 was extreme, you haven’t seen anything yet.”
