Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem Sequel and Paramount+ Series Announced
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is generating quite the buzz among fans as its release date draws near. With just a few weeks to go, fans are eagerly anticipating another thrilling adventure with their favorite crime-fighting turtles. However, the excitement doesn’t end there. Variety has revealed that a sequel to the animated film is already in development, in addition to a television spinoff for Paramount+.
While specific details about the sequel remain tightly under wraps, it has been confirmed that Jeff Rowe will return to helm the sequel. As for the television spinoff, it will be a 2D animated series titled Tales of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The spinoff has already received the green light for two seasons and will bridge the gap between the events of the initial movie and its sequel.
The roles of the TMNT will be reprised by Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu, and Brady Noon. Chris Yost and Alan Wan are attached to the upcoming series as showrunners and executive producers.
Ramsey Naito, President of Paramount Animation & Nickelodeon Animation, expressed excitement about bringing new adventures to families and fans, saying:
“Reinvigorating this franchise has been years in the making, and we are thrilled to continue expanding the beloved ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ universe and bringing new adventures to families and fans,”
Paramount’s commitment to expanding the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles universe is evident as they invest heavily in the future of the Turtles in a half shell with the announcement of these upcoming projects. They seem to have plenty of confidence in the success of Mutant Mayhem ahead of its theatrical release and it’s justified as fans have flocked to the film in anticipation of the new take on the heroes.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem hits the big screen on August 2, 2023. Stay tuned as more information on the sequel and series will likely come after the film’s release.
