Awaceb has announced that their highly-anticipated indie title Tchia has been pushed out of its 2022 release date and delayed until early 2023. The game which was announced during the 2020 Game Awards, is set to take players on a beautiful island adventure.
Players will take control of a young girl with the ability to inhabit the bodies of many different animals found on the island as well as other objects in the world. From what the developer has previously revealed, players will get to explore, sail, glide and dive into the waters of the beautiful landscape.
The developer posted an update on Twitter that explained the reason for the delay as it works to polish the game, saying ” this extra time will allow us to really polish every aspect of the game and flesh out all the little details that we know will make Tchia a really special experience.”
The full post reads:
“We are overwhelmed by how far this project, inspired by a tiny island we call home, has brought us. After 3 years of passion and hard work, we owe it to ourselves and everyone who has been supportive to deliver the best game we possibly can.
To that end, we have decided to move our release window to early 2023. This extra time will allows us to really polish every aspect of the game and flesh out all the little details that we know will make Tchia a really special experience.
Thank you again for your support. We have a lot of exciting things to show on the road to launch, so stay tuned!”
Tchia will now launch in early 2023 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.
