Nostalgia is high for BioWare favorites. One that cannot be left off this list is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, which is reportedly getting a remake with port studio Aspyr at the helm.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is easily the best entry in the Star Wars universe in any form, even the original build, holds up to this day and is packed with one of the most intriguing Star Wars plot lines and characters that you can find in any film or tv series in the Star Wars universe.
Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier spoke during a podcast interview about a previous rumor that has been circulating for a while now: a Knights of the Old Republic remake,
“This is public at this point,” Schreier told Hanson. “I’ve basically confirmed that Aspyr – which is the company that has ported a bunch of KOTOR games, is working on the remake.”
Aspyr is already in the works with a port for Star Wars: Republic Commando for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, bringing this fan favorite title to remake would definitely bolster the already trending Star Wars universe.
How they would handle a remaster of the trilogy remains to be seen as BioWare was charged with developing the first and third entry in the series, with LucasArts opting to have Obsidian Entertainment develop the sequel to the first game.
Let us know what you think of this possibility, I am sure we can all agree that this is something the gaming community would happily welcome and enjoy, but I would like to hear if you think the role-playing mechanic is something you’d like to see tweaked or updated.
