Scarlett Johansson in Talks to Star in the Next Jurassic World Movie

According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, Scarlett Johansson is currently in talks to take the lead role in an upcoming Jurassic World movie. The project, directed by Gareth Edwards and written by David Koepp, is still shrouded in a bit of mystery, with no details released regarding the plot or additional cast members.

Johansson’s potential character in this Jurassic World installment remains undisclosed. Following her extensive tenure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actress expressed her departure from the role of Black Widow in April 2023 and reiterated this decision in November of the same year.

Gareth Edwards, recognized for his work on high-profile blockbusters such as 2014’s Godzilla and the Star Wars standalone film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in 2016, is set to direct the movie. His most recent directorial endeavor was the 2024 release of The Creator, a science fiction film centered around artificial intelligence.

With the film’s release date scheduled for July 2, 2025, there are still significant details to be finalized, such as Johansson’s confirmed involvement and the development of the movie’s storyline.

There’s still plenty left to reveal along with Johansson’s involvement in the film and role. We still have questions as to where Jurassic World goes from here after the end of the most recent trilogy which features Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard.
