Samaritan Sequel Coming to Prime Video
Amazon and MGM have officially announced that a sequel to the 2022 superhero movie, Samaritan is in the works. The first film, starring Sylvester Stallone as the former superhero turned vigilante, was a huge success. Stallone will not only reprise his role as Joe, but he will also produce the sequel under his Balboa Productions.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed the news, revealing that Bragi F. Schut, the writer of the original movie, will be writing the script for the follow-up as well. The film also starred Pilou Asbæk, Martin Starr, Moises Arias, and Dascha Polanco.
The first film is based on a 2014 graphic novel of the same name by creators Bragi F. Schut, Marc Olivent, and Renzo Podesta. We were introduced us to Joe, a trash collector who becomes connected with Sam after saving him from bullies. Sam believes Joe is the legendary superhero Samaritan, who supposedly perished in a fire after a battle with his twin brother Nemesis.
Despite the passage of 25 years, some, including Sam, still hold on to the belief that Samaritan is alive and secretly living in their city.

While details about the plot of the sequel are being kept secret for now, the ending of the original film left fans with numerous burning questions. This has sparked a lot of speculation and anticipation regarding the direction the sequel might take. The film all but spelled out that Joe was in fact Nemesis and not Samaritan.
We were left to sit with the burning question with no revelation of a sequel. Now that a sequel is in the works, we might get to have some of these burning questions answered.
Samaritan is currently available to stream on Prime Video. Stay tuned as more information becomes available.
