On the newest episode of Anime 1-A, I got the opportunity to sit down and chat with this week’s guest professor Ricco Fajardo! Ricco is a professional voice actor featured in video games and shows such as My Hero Academia, BlueLock, Zombie Land Saga, Dr. Stone, and so much more!
I talked to Ricco about how Blockbuster Video helped introduce him to anime, what he is currently watching, and whether he prefers sub or dub. We then talk about all the different dub options available now, and how this helps bring anime to an even broader audience, and we take a trip down nostalgia lane talking about the awesomeness that is Cowboy Bebop!
We then dove into this week’s lesson plan all about his new show, The Legendary Hero is Dead! Here’s the premise:
Sion Breydan sealed away the Demon King and his army at Hell’s Gate. Now with the Demon King ready to rise again, Sion jumps back into battle to face his sworn enemy. Unfortunately, he ends up getting killed in a pig trap dug by farmer Touka Scott who was trying to defend himself from the demons. With no other option, necromancer Anri Hazeworth puts Touka’s perverted soul in the deceased body of Sion to pose as him. Along with Touka’s childhood friend Yuna Yunis, the three mismatched heroes must rise to the challenge.
We talked about the differences between Mirio from MHA and Touka Scott, how it was having a mini MHA reunion on this new show, and what’s coming next! **WARNING THERE ARE SPOILERS!!!**
Check out the first season of The Legendary Hero is Dead and all of the other great anime we discussed on Crunchyroll!
