Pokémon Go Fest is a worldwide event and players can participate from the comfort of their own homes. This will be the second year Pokémon Go has held such an event. While last year players paid $14.99 to participate, this year access will only cost you $5! The small fee will give you access to 2 full days of Pokémon catching, July 17th and 18th.
If you’re like me and you turn your sounds off while you play, you’re going to want to turn that sound on to get the full experience. Pokémon music producer, Junichi Masuda, has put together new tracks specifically for this event. Niantic did give us a few details on two of the new songs you will hear during the event. One is a “rock-and-rolling track for Pikachu Rock Star fans,” and the other is a “high-energy electro-pop song for Pikachu Pop Star stans.”
The event will be similar to last years event. Day one will consist of tracking down rare critters to add to your collection and every hour the habitat will change to give you opportunities to catch Pokémon. You will also have the chance to catch the new Pikachus decked out in rock and pop star outfits.
Day two of the event will focus on raids but you will still be able to catch all the Pokémon from the day before. While we are unsure what Pokémon will be in the raids, there is a good chance we may see new ones as there has been so much secrecy surrounding them.
There will also be new variations of shiny Pokémon to add to your Pokédex. This year, shiny Unown F, Throh, Sawk, Whismur, Chimecho, Audino, and Tympole are making their debuts. We are very excited to see what other surprises they have in store for us in July.
