Our Flag Means Death Renewed for Season 2 at HBO Max
HBO Max has announced that Our Flag Means Death has been renewed for a second season. The comedy series stars Taika Waititi as the renowned pirate Blackbeard who falls in love with the incompetent pirate sailing the seas, Stade Bonnet who is portrayed by Rhys Darby.
The official series description reads:
“The year is 1717. Wealthy landowner Stede Bonnet has a midlife crisis and decides to blow up his cushy life to become a pirate. It does not go well. Based on a true story.”
Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content HBO Max commented on the series renewal, saying:
“We are so happy to bring this truly one-of-a-kind series back! We congratulate David [Jenkins], Taika, Rhys and the entire talented cast and crew, and thank the show’s fans for embracing it wholeheartedly.”
Creator David Jenkins also added:
“We felt the show was special while we were making it, but fans’ open-armed embrace of the inhabitants of the Revenge makes heading into a second season all the more sweet. Starring alongside Waititi and Darby is Nathan Foad, Samson Kayo, Vico Ortiz, Ewen Bremner, Joel Fry, Matt Maher, Kristian Nairn, Con O’Neill, Guz Khan, David Fane, Rory Kinnear, Samba Schutte, Nat Faxon, Fred Armisen, and Leslie Jones. The series is executive produced by Waititi, Jenkins, Garrett Basch, and Dan Halsted.
No release date has been confirmed for season 2 of Our Flag Means Death, but season 1 is available to stream on HBO Max right now.
