New The Last of Us Multiplayer Experience Will Be a Standalone Game
The Summer of Games Fest presentation kicked off today and it brought fans of The Last of Us universe many updates to savor. One of the most notable was an update on the new The Last of Us multiplayer experience that will be a standalone game and will feature a new cast of characters and setting.
The multiplayer experience was initially planned to be included in The Last of Us 2 but Naughty Dog has taken on a more ambitious task after cutting it from the sequel to focus on the campaign. With previous indications of the multiplayer experience in the works, the scope that the studio has expanded to has brought it into its own game that is sure to give players even more of The Last of Us universe to explore and enjoy.
Neil Druckmann spoke on behalf of Naughty Dog at the presentation and advised fans that they had brought the concept art to share but was open about them not sharing many more details on the project this year but we could expect to be seeing more of the project in 2023.
