Mr. Guy: Zombie Hunter – Rise Up Out of Your Graves For Mr. Guy’s Adventure Coming To Kickstarter

Oneshi Press has announced an epic fantasy comedy comic series titled Mr. Guy: Zombie Hunter coming to Kickstarter. Mr. Guy is tasked with saving the world but won’t do it alone as he is accompanied by a spectral sidekick which spawned out of his zombie bite. The series is penned by Jayel Draco, creator of Mr. Guy: Zombie Hunter and illustrator of Mr. Guy Act 1, Arc 1. Draco is also the co-founder of Oneshi Press and his previous credits include co-creating Children of Gala, and illustrating Tracy Queen and PACK.

Draco is joined by a talented group of creators in Act 1 that include Walter Ostlie, Diana Camero, Jacey Chase, guest artist Sophia Murphy, and cover art by Sonnie. The rest of the team brought this project to life including editor Lynsey G, composer David Gueringer, and PR & marketing by Joey Galvez.

Oneshi Press‘ description of Act 1 reads:

“To Save Himself—the original zom-com caper—our reluctant hero was
infected with the ZMB virus. But rather than un-dead-ifying, he got saddled with a
skeletal sidekick named Spooky, who helped him run for his life…er…fight ferociously
against a horde of horrifying, hungry shamblers, a be-dead-ed barkeep, and even an
unholy cow!”

Act 2 includes an equally impressive ensemble of creators with Draco being joined by James Groeling, Daniel Hooker, Michel Abstracto, and Wren Rios. ‘Skooba’ Steve Myers will provide line art and inks to the series, colorist Whitney Cook, and letterer Cardinal Rae. The issue will feature a cover by Stevieraedrawn.

The description of Act 2 reads:

“The Hecking Heck of It, Mr. Guy and Spooky—who comes with neato
powers—must face all the hecks in Heck with Dante, a doom swamp, a crankypants
orisha, Elder Gods, a seriously gnarly necromancer, and even the Dark Lord’s darkest
hole! Even worse, they have to spend another whole act together as they try to cure
the zombie apocalypse and break the curse that binds them together.”

Draco shares the connection that Mr. Guy will develop with readers, saying:

“Mr. Guy’s ongoing journey continues to lampoon the things we love most in pop
culture. The story delivers laugh after laugh as it develops inside jokes with his audience […] while we grow together with our ne’er-do-well half-goblin BAE.”
