Michael Jordan Revealed As NBA 2K23 Cover Athlete, Jordan Challenges Also Returning
2K Games has revealed NBA legend Michael Jordan will be the cover athlete of NBA 2K23 special editions. 2K Games is also set to bring back The Jordan Challenges in the next entry of the popular franchise that will take moments from Jordan’s career with the Chicago Bulls and Team USA to create these iconic challenges. The special editions making their way this September will be the Michael Jordan Edition and the Championship Edition.
The publisher noted that not only did this year’s entry match due to Jordan’s iconic #23 jersey but this year’s MyPlayer campaign embodied the spirit he brought to the game, with vice president of global marketing strategy for NBA 2K Alfie Brody saying:
“After making 23 the most recognizable number in sports, it was only fitting that for NBA 2K23 we introduce the Michael Jordan Edition…”
We still don’t know which athlete will appear on the standard edition covers. What we do know is that the new tier (The Championship Edition) does include a one-year subscription to NBA League Pass that will grant you access to live NBA games. Short of that, we don’t have much information on what will be available in the special editions. 2K Games does promise more information is on the way, and soon with a deeper look at The Jordan Challenges coming as well.
NBA 2K23 will release on PlayStation and Xbox consoles on September 9th, 2022. Check out the teaser trailer below:
