On Sept 5. Prime Video announced the plans of making the Square Enix game, Life is Strange, into a TV series, according to a press release by Amazon MGM Studios.
The series will also come from Story Kitchen and Luckychap and is set to be produced and run by Charlie Covell, who is a fan of the game and says it is a huge honor to adapt it into a series. Dmitri M. Johnson, Mike Goldberg and Timothy I. Stevenson will executive produce the series under the Story Kitchen banner.

Based on the 2015 video game franchise, the story follows Max Caufield, a photography student at the prestigious boarding school Blackwell Academy who discovers she has the power to rewind time after preventing the death of her childhood friend, Chloe Price. The two then use Max’s power to investigate the disappearance of a Blackwell student while making choices that face them with consequences along the way.
The game being adapted into a show also brings lots of worry to many fans on Reddit, as with the “choose your own adventure” story line, the series could go any way and it could be difficult to appeal to fans. One user even commented how it should be an interactive TV show similar to Netflix’s “Bandersnatch”.
While no casting plans have yet been made, fans have been fancasting possible contenders for the series, with many wanting “Wednesday” star Emma Myers to play Max Caufield. Myers has mentioned that portraying the character would be “a dream role”, according to an interview in Seventeen.
The series does not yet have a release date.
