Lester of the Lesser Gods: Dark Horse Brings Us Odin’s LARPing Love Child in New Series

Renowned comic creator Eric Powell, known for The Goon and Four Gathered on Christmas Eve, has teamed up with the talented comedian and actor Lucky Yates, recognized for his work on Archer, Good Eats, and Exploding Kittens, to present a new Dark Horse Comics comic miniseries, Lester of the Lesser Gods.

Originally conceived as an unreleased animated short by Powell a decade ago, Lester of the Lesser Gods has been revitalized, with the esteemed artist Gideon Kendall, celebrated for MegaGhost and Marley’s Ghost, providing illustrations and lettering for the series. The debut issue, Lester of the Lesser Gods #1, will also showcase a special variant cover crafted by Powell himself.

The story follows Lester, the intriguing LARPing bastard son of Odin, as he navigates the post-apocalyptic wasteland following his heroic act of thwarting Satan’s endeavor to initiate the end of days. However, the question remains: can this champion of the oppressed endure the intense battle arena of Will Frye, the Technomancer Guy?

Lester of the Lesser Gods #1 will arrive at your favorite local comic shop on May 22, 2024.
